.: A Beacon of Hope in 2010-2011

Our 2010-2011 Presidential theme, A Beacon of Hope, expresses the thought that there are more than 1.35 million lighthouses in 206 countries – Lions members who will continue to light the way, and serve as beacons of hope. The key to our success is through service and impactful projects.

International President Sid Scruggs' theme for the 2010-2011 year is A Beacon of Hope. His focus will be on service. To that end, he has prepared four separate programs for service throughout the next year. Our clubs and our district have the opportunity to engage in service programs at least four times this year. Each club will be asked to participate in a community service event, or if possible, participate in a district community service event. The events are as follows:

August – Shine a Light on Youth. Have a service activity that focuses on youth.

October – Shine a Light on Blindness. Have a service activity that focuses on sight.

November/December – Shine a light on Hunger. Have a service activity that focuses on hunger.

April – Shine a Light on the Environment. Have a service activity that focuses on the environment.
